CityU Dongguan Starts New Cooperation with Universities in Hong Kong

CityU DG communicated with a number of universities in Hong Kong to discuss the direction of future cooperation and the possibility of program innovation, in order to further implement the “Plan for Promoting The Cooperation and Development of Higher Education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” issued by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and promote the key measures and requirements in the aspect of “international exchange and cooperation” in the “14th Five-Year plan” of the CityU.
On January 19, Professor Li Shuying, executive President of CityU, visited Hang Seng University. President Ho of HSUHK said that the school attached great importance to the internationalization of education and cooperation with mainland and foreign universities. The two sides hoped that the two universities would strengthen contact and carry out substantive cooperation in such aspects as mutual visits between teachers and students, joint establishment of schools and scientific research. Finally, the two sides also reached an intention to jointly sign a memorandum of cooperation.
On February 10th, CityU held an online meeting with the Hong Kong Metropolitan University. The two sides reached consensus on undergraduate cooperative education programs, student semester exchange, master’s course cooperation and other aspects. At the invitation of Professor Li Shuying, HKMU had agreed to join the Global Consortium of Metropolitan Universities as one of the initiators of the initiative.
Previously, Prof. Li Shuying also visited the Lingnan University, Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Chu Hai College of Higher Education (CHC), Hong Kong College of Technology (HKCT), and two middle schools. In addition, CityU held an online meeting with Hong Kong Shue Yan University to exchange and discuss the complementary advantages of professional resources, cooperative education, joint postgraduate training courses, special cooperation, campus expansion and other aspects.It is hoped that CityU will further deepen its cooperation with other universities in Hong Kong and jointly contribute to the prosperity and sustainable development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through collaborative innovation.
