On November 26, 2021, the 16th Cross-Strait Higher Education Forum was held in Guangzhou University via a combination of online and offline forms. As an internationally renowned education expert, Professor Li Shuying, executive president of CityU DG, was invited to attend the forum.

At the forum, Professor Li Shuying delivered a special report entitled “The University of the Future and the Future of the University: Global Foresight of University Development”. The report started with the latest development in higher education and the trend in innovative institutions of higher education. It combined the main ideas presented at the international conferences on the theme of “The University of the Future” held in the last two years and cited authoritative research data to conceptualize the construction of disciplines, majors and programs, the management model of the university, and the future development of the university. Professor Li Shuying analyzed the new trends of changes in the main functions (teaching, research and community services) of the university.
